Family
Living in a village, just South of Birmingham. Married to Karen , with twin boys (11) at Middle school. Also two older ‘children’, a son living and Working in Oman and a daughter currently at Gloucester University.
Hobbies
A keen motorcyclist, I have passed my advanced test and I am currently training to be a training observer, to pass on my skills.
Work History
10 great years spent at Land Rover, Solihull. Starting on the track, building the Defender, before moving to support the launch of the first Freelander. My career developed through Team Leader, Production Manager and finally into New Product Launch. I was the manufacturing interface for model year changes and the launch of the Freelander USA version.
Company
I started at Maypole in 2005. Working my way around the company to understand each department. I did a long period as Operations Manager before then moving into Sales. In 2014 my wife and I took the joint Managing Director roles, with my bias still being towards the Sales and Marketing side of the business. Currently working hard to grow our ranges and in particular the towing and trailer offering, which remains the main part of the business.
NTTA
Joined the council a few years ago. The goal was to try and give something back to the industry. Having a strong Industry representation is important and with the challenges of Type Approval in 2012 and now looking forward to a future outside the EU, with Brexit. There is a lot of change ahead, but also opportunity.
